Tribute to Otwarte Circle
Otwarte Circle’s foundress, Cindy Matteson, and the Sisters of the Living Word (SLW) connected in December 2023. Cindy and her Team have been a God-send. Our Congregational Leadership Team was six months in office and we had just lost a core member of the support staff. Nerves were frayed to say the least. The SLW were in the process of down-sizing and coming to fulfillment – another unknown path to travel. From the very first conversation, Cindy quieted the fears we had regarding a smooth transition. Her experience of working with religious communities of women was just what we needed to hear. Cindy was aware of the needs of communities and used to dealing with all the areas of Temporal Affairs. Over these two and one-half years Otwarte Circle has gradually taken on more and more of the day-to-day affairs encompassing the lives of mostly elder sisters and their needs. What has also grown and deepened over these years is the stewarding that is obvious with Cindy and her Team in their interactions with each individual. Otwarte Circle is a gift God gave to the Sisters of the Living Word. We continue to share in the unwrapping.
